Most food businesses just don't know how to enter it yet. ZinTrove helps cafés, restaurants, hotels, cloud kitchens, and bakeries legally integrate hemp-based food and beverages, with the licensing clarity, sourcing, formulations, and staff training to do it right the first time.
Hemp is not bhang. Hemp is not marijuana. Hemp seed-based food is a recognised, legal FSSAI food category in India — and this page is about exactly that, and nothing else.
If you came here worried this is about intoxicating or recreational products, it isn't — and we'll say that clearly and repeatedly throughout this page.
Hemp is no longer only a "bhang" conversation. It has become a legal, wellness, food, farming, and sustainable-industry category, with clear FSSAI standards for hemp seed foods already in place in India. Globally, hemp is expanding fast across food, textiles, fibre, packaging, wellness, and bio-materials. Demand and curiosity around it are rising quickly here at home too, but almost no organised, compliant players exist to guide food businesses into the category safely. That gap is the opportunity. Right now, the businesses that move first — the ones who can legitimately say "we were the first hemp menu in our city" — get a real, defensible first-mover position. That window will not stay open forever.
I'm Amruta Shitole, founder of ZinTrove.
When I was around six years old, my grandmother was suffering from cancer. I didn't understand the word yet — I just remember asking my father again and again what had happened to her, and never getting a clear answer. What I saw instead was silence, fear, and helplessness on everyone's face.
After we lost her, my father changed completely. The person who once carried strength for the whole family became quiet and deeply sad. I could see depression on his face before I even understood what the word meant. That phase never really left me — it taught me that losing someone doesn't just take one life from a family, it can take the light out of an entire home.
Years later, I went through my own severe depression. That experience made me understand my father's pain in a way I couldn't have before. It pushed me to search for something real — natural wellness, traditional healing, plant-based solutions. That search led me to hemp, bhang, and cannabis-based wellness, and eventually to studying Ayurveda, where I found references to Vijaya and hemp seeds already sitting inside our own traditional knowledge system. This plant wasn't new to us at all.
When Uttarakhand legally recognised hemp cultivation around 2018, I saw a way to work in this space honestly, legally, and with purpose. That's where Rootsativaa began, followed by The Hemp Cafeteria in Pune — one of India's earliest legal hemp-based cafés.
ZinTrove is what that journey has become: a way to bring hemp into Indian food businesses the right way — legal, responsible, and rooted in something real.
Most hemp brands sell you an ingredient and leave you to figure out the rest. ZinTrove is different — we handle the entire entry into the category, step by step:
We study your business type, menu, kitchen, and customer base to find exactly where hemp fits.
Plain-language guidance on what's allowed, what isn't, FSSAI requirements, labelling, and sourcing standards.
Guidance and support through whatever documentation your business specifically needs.
Which hemp items to launch first, how to price and position them.
Tested product ideas and preparation methods your team can execute consistently.
Compliant hemp seed ingredients, premixes, powders, and oils sourced correctly.
Menu wording, staff talking points, and customer FAQs so your team can explain hemp with confidence.
Hands-on training so your team isn't caught off guard by a customer's first question.
Continued support as you expand your hemp menu over time.

Our business was once wrongly linked to illegal cannabis in a media report. When the Narcotics Department checked in, we presented our licences, permissions, and documentation, and the matter was resolved on the spot — because our compliance was real, not assumed.

Hemp is a compliance-sensitive category, and licensing and sourcing timelines are usually slower than a typical business-coaching program. Here's what most existing food businesses can realistically expect.

Recipe testing, sourcing, SOPs, staff training, menu wording, and customer FAQs — moving toward a soft launch once documents and approvals are in place.
A stable hemp menu line, customer feedback, refined SOPs, repeat raw material planning, and new product additions or expansion.

You'll leave this call with real clarity, legal and commercial, whether or not you ever move forward with us.

Legal hemp seed food is an entirely different category from bhang, marijuana, or recreational cannabis. Hemp seed, oil, and flour are recognised under FSSAI as food ingredients when sourced, labelled, and handled correctly — which is exactly what we walk you through.
No. We work only with legal, non-psychoactive hemp seed ingredients, positioned as a nutrition and wellness category, and we help you communicate that clearly to your customers too.
This is exactly why menu positioning, staff training, and customer FAQs matter as much as the product itself — and it's built into the program, based on what actually worked in our own café.
Your outlet keeps its own existing FSSAI/local licences. We handle the hemp-specific compliance layer — sourcing, labelling, and documentation guidance.
We don't guarantee government approval — no honest consultant can, in a regulated category like this. We work in two payment stages: 80% at project start, 20% on completion. If an application isn't approved for reasons outside our control, we may refund up to 60% of the fee after deducting documentation, portal, and consultation costs. If the issue is on our end, we correct and reprocess it at no extra charge.
We'll tell you honestly on the call. Not every business or location is a fit for every part of this, and we'd rather tell you that upfront than take your money and find out later.
Every month that passes without clarity is a month someone else could move first in your city. This call costs you under an hour, and gives you a straight answer either way.
